In the space of just three weeks, over 4,000 young people have signed up as members of Wigan Youth Zone.
In addition to this, over 13,000 young people have visited the Youth Zone since it opened on the 8 June, which has exceeded all expectations and has firmly established the dedicated youth centre in the community.
There is further cause for celebration as the opening of the Wigan Youth Zone has seen OnSide achieve the ambitious ‘5 in 5’ goal to open five youth zones in five years, with plans to open another in Preston in early 2015 and Wolverhampton also in 2015.
The Wigan Youth Zone provides young people with somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to.
Whether it is sport, art, drama, music or just simply looking for a safe place to hang out; Wigan Youth Zone offers something for everyone. It is open seven days a week from 4 – 10pm for seniors (high school age to 19) and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am – 2pm for juniors (primary school years 3 – 6).
Reception is open from 9am for young people to get their memberships at a cost of just £5 per year. Young people will then pay just 50p every time they enter.
