Take a Virtual TourOnSide has moved a step closer to developing Youth Zones in London following the recruitment of a team of three full time staff based in the capital.
Simon Baker, Sally Carruthers & Mark Blundell have all joined to work alongside former Onside CEO, Jerry Glover and our London Champion, Charles Mindenhall. The trio bring with them a wealth of experience and are testament to OnSide’s commitment to investing in children and young people from the capital city.
Simon, an instrumental figure in Wigan Youth Zone’s success joins as Development and Programme Manager and will be responsible for building partnerships with a number of local authorities across the capital towards securing London Youth Zones.
Campaign Director, Sally, will work to secure capital funding from the private sector for new Youth Zones. Her role is to cultivate new funding streams beyond the North West and to work with major donors, trusts, foundations and other funders to fund new Youth Zones nationwide.
And Mark, joins the London team as Partnership Development & Community Engagement Manager. With over 30 years’ worth of experience in London, Mark has worked in various roles including 12 years leading on the redevelopment of Salmon Youth Centre, which like Bolton Lads and Girls Club, was a forerunner of the national MyPlace programme, which saw the development of world class facilities for young people including OnSide Youth Zones. Mark will develop relationships and partnerships with people, local residents, third sector organisations and local authority personnel in areas that OnSide are developing Youth Zones across London.
