Video: Creating A Level Playing Field

9th January 2015 by Onside Youth Zones

A Level Playing Field is a new unique partnership project between OnSide, our Youth Zones and Seashell Trust, which aims to support over 1,200 disabled young people, aged 8-25 yr olds.

The project was launched back in 2014 to address issues of limited facilities or services close to home for families with disabled children. The focus of the project is for Youth Zones to get young people with a disability involved in inclusive sports and recreational activities such as football, badminton, basketball, climbing, dancing and creative activities to increase their experience of independence.

The strapline for Seashell Trust CADS is: ‘Sport can be played by anyone and should be enjoyed by all’ and that is a value we hold true to in the ‘A Level Playing Field Project’s’ delivery of CADS (Children Able and Disabled Sports) events this year.

The CADS programme is now fully operational across the Youth Zone network and the video below emphasises the impact the project is having on lives of young people, in particular those with complex disabilities.

If you want to get involved in the CADS programme, please contact your local Youth Zone. Or alternatively you can find out more information by visiting the CADS section of our website.
