Base71 is a show of belief in our young people

Regeneration has transformed Barnsley, breathing new life into our community. Now we focus on investing in the future – the young people who will shape what comes next.

As Yorkshire’s first Youth Zone, it represents opportunity and ambition for over 4,000 young people aged eight to 18 (or up to 25 for those with additional needs) who will walk through its doors annually.

Base71 will be an incredible, state-of-the-art youth club fizzing with energy offering young people a place to have fun, make friends, and gain the skills they need to thrive. Located in the heart of Barnsley town centre next to the train station, young people will have over 20 activities on offer to try each session.

Base71 will be staffed by skilled and dedicated youth workers who truly believe in young people – helping them see what they could achieve, and giving them the skills, confidence and ambition to go for it.
