Donations to OnSide Youth Zones could be worth more through Gift Aid – at no extra cost to you.
With Gift Aid, the Government lets us claim an extra 25p for every £1 you donate. It costs you nothing as long as you pay Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax at a rate at least equal to the amount of Gift Aid claimed on your donations in that tax year.
All you need to do is make a Gift Aid Declaration using the form below. Or call us on 01204 362128 to make a verbal declaration over the phone.
When you sign up, we can add Gift Aid to the past 4 years of your donations to OnSide Youth Zones. We’ll continue to add Gift Aid to any donations you make in the future, unless you ask us not to.
If you pay tax at a higher rate (40%) or additional rate (45%), you are able to claim the difference between the higher rates of tax and the basic rate of tax (20 per cent), based on the total of the gift you have made plus the Gift Aid OnSide Youth Zones can claim on your behalf.
For example, a donation of £1,000 becomes £1,250 for OnSide Youth Zones after application of Gift Aid. This would cost:
after making a Gift Aid reclaim on their tax return.
For example, a donation of £25,000 becomes £31,250 for OnSide Youth Zones after application of Gift Aid. This donation would cost:
after making a Gift Aid reclaim on a Self Assessment tax return.

Donate NowGifting qualifying shares to a charity is one of the most tax efficient ways to make a donation. Not only is the charity benefitting from your donation but you can also reduce your tax liability in the tax year of the gift being made. In addition, Capital Gains Tax that you may have incurred on any increase in the value of the shares since they were bought will not apply if you gift the shares to a charity.
Tax relief is available to UK taxpayers donating shares and securities listed on the UK stock market, the Alternative Investment Market and recognised stock exchanges overseas. It is also available for units in a UK unit trust and shares in a UK open-ended investment company.
You can claim income tax relief, via your Self Assessment Return, equal to the market value of the shares on the day the gift is made, plus any associated costs such as the brokers’ fees.
For example: A gift of shares worth £1,000 and brokers fees of £50. The cost of making this donation: to an additional rate taxpayer (45%) is £577 (£1,000 plus £50 broker fees less £472 tax relief) after making a reclaim on a Self Assessment tax return*
Your Financial Advisor will be able to support you in making a gift of shares to us. Alternatively, for gifts of shares worth £500 or more, you donate to Sharegift and mention OnSide Youth Zones.
