Take a Virtual TourYesterday, youth workers from across the OnSide Network gathered at The Way, Wolverhampton Youth Zone for the 2025 Power of Youth Work Conference – a day dedicated to connection, inspiration, and celebration.
Hosted by OnSide, the conference brought together youth workers from across the country to share learnings, hear directly from young people, and explore how youth work continues to change lives. Members of OnSide’s Youth Advisory Board opened the event, sharing powerful stories about the difference youth workers have made in their lives, followed by sessions on engagement, inclusion, and mentoring.
The day ended on a high with the OnSide Power of Youth Work Awards, recognising outstanding contributions across the Network. The highlight of the ceremony was the announcement of Jack Taylor from Warrington Youth Zone as Youth Worker of the Year.
Jack was nominated for his extraordinary empathy, unwavering belief in young people, and his ability to connect with those who may find it hardest to trust. Known affectionately among young people as the person to call when things get tough, “Get Jack” is a common phrase at Warrington Youth Zone. Jack is a trusted mentor and role model for many.
Jack’s compassion and commitment have had a profound impact on some of Warrington’s most vulnerable young people, helping them find safety, confidence, and hope. From guiding young people through emotional challenges to inspiring them through boxing and martial arts, his dedication continues to transform hundreds of young people’s lives.
Jamie Masraff, CEO at OnSide, said:
“Jack’s exemplifies outstanding youth work. His belief in young people, compassion, and willingness to meet them where they are reflects the values we champion at OnSide. We’re incredibly proud to celebrate him and all the youth workers across our Network who give so much of themselves to help young people realise their potential.”
The Power of Youth Work Conference was a powerful reminder of the incredible dedication within the OnSide Network, a community of professionals committed to creating opportunities, building trust, and helping young people across the UK thrive.
