We want to ensure that health is at the heart of how we work and all we do. To achieve this we are delivering a multi funded holistic programme to create and embed a culture of health across the Network of Youth Zones. The Culture of health project has been funded by The Oglesby Charitable Trust, Rayne Foundation, 29th May 1961 Charitable Trust, CareTech Foundation and Fusion21 Foundation. The project aims to achieve a consistent, high quality approach to delivering health outcomes across all Youth Zones, with health underpinning all activities.
We have two objectives for the project: to continue to focus on individual health behaviours and to create environments that promote healthy behaviours as the ‘norm’.
Youth Zones are working intensively to support the health and wellbeing of both members and staff to achieve a long-term systemic change in operations and impact. This includes things like having a health and wellbeing policy, ensuring health and wellbeing is discussed regularly at Board and Senior Leadership Team meetings, that a Youth Work Programme is developed to incorporate physical health, mental health and nutritional support through all its targeted and universal activities.
The project will deliver:
