What inspired you to join OnSide?

The opportunity found me while I was exploring new roles on LinkedIn. Initially, I didn’t know much about OnSide, but as I researched and prepared for my interviews, I became genuinely excited about the organisation’s mission and impact. By the time I had my first interview, I was hoping and praying for the chance to join. I fell in love with OnSide that day – and every day since has only strengthened that feeling.

What was your first impression of the OnSide team? 

My very first interview felt incredibly smooth, warm, and welcoming – it honestly felt like I was already part of the team! Every interaction since then has been equally delightful, reinforcing how collaborative and supportive the culture is here. 

What’s been a memorable moment since you started? 

The team away day stands out as a truly memorable experience – especially because it happened before I officially started in my role! It was such a fun and wholesome day, giving me the chance to meet almost everyone across the organisation and feel part of the OnSide family right from the start.

Have you visited a Youth Zone yet? What did you think?

Yes! I’ve visited three Youth Zones so far, and each experience has been unique and inspiring. 

• The Way (Wolverhampton): My very first visit during my interview, where I had a tour that completely hooked me. 

• Base 71 (Barnsley): I visited before it officially opened, which gave me a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at the operations. 

• Unitas (Barnet): Experiencing a Youth Zone in full swing, with staff and young people, was incredible.
  I can’t wait to visit the rest of the Youth Zones and see more of the amazing work happening across the network! 

Which Youth Zone room would you most likely be found in and why?

Definitely the Dance Studio! I absolutely love dancing to Bollywood music – put me in a room with a mirror, and I might never leave! 

Tell us a fun fact about yourself?

Because my first time meeting everyone was at the Away Day – and I had no idea who anyone was – I walked up to our CEO, Jamie, and casually asked him what his role in the company was!

It’s permanently etched into my 3AM thoughts!
