Take a Virtual TourA key motivator throughout my career has been creating opportunities for young people. Personally, and professionally, I’ve met too many young people with talent and drive, held back by a lack of opportunity. OnSide’s commitment to helping all young people find their passion and purpose really inspired me and I loved the way the Youth Zones offered something for everyone.
I was also inspired by an organisational culture that felt collaborative and ambitious. My role is a brand-new one, working collaboratively across the four London Youth Zones, created with the ambition to support more young people in the capital.
Everyone was very warm and welcoming, both at OnSide and at each of the Youth Zones, ready to share their insights and experiences.
Attending the Patrons Evening for WEST not long after I started my role. Watching the young members host the evening and talk about what the Youth Zone meant to them was a privilege, and looking around the room, it was clear so many of the guests felt the same.
I’ve had the pleasure of spending some time in each of the London Youth Zones, getting to know the teams and the young members. The spaces are incredible; the scale and the facilities really blow you away. Although each Youth Zone has the shared DNA, they each have a different personality, reflective of their community.
Definitely the training kitchen – I love to cook (and eat!)
I was once an extra in a Bollywood film, but I think it’s safe to say I was never destined for stardom!
