Senior Zone Coordinator (Mahdlo Youth Zone)

Mahdlo Youth Zone is a state-of-the-art multi-million pound location providing young people aged 8 to 19, and up to 25 for those with additional needs, engaging and exciting opportunities to try something new, seven days a week.

We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a highly motivated and proactive person to the role of Senior Zone Coordinator.

Your Responsibility

As Senior Zone Coordinator, you will lead the development and delivery of an exciting, high-quality programme of youth work that meets the needs, interests and ambitions of our members. You’ll design and deliver creative sessions, support young people to develop confidence and life skills, and ensure our activities are inclusive, safe, and impactful.

You’ll also manage and mentor a team of coordinators, youth workers and volunteers, helping them to deliver the best possible experiences for young people. This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring a minimum of three direct delivery sessions per week, as well as responsibility for planning, budgeting, evaluation, and safeguarding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, plan, and lead an engaging programme of Senior Zone activities both on-site and in the community.
  • Manage, coach, and support a team of youth workers, sessional staff and volunteers to deliver exceptional youth work.
  • Ensure activities reflect Mahdlo’s six key themes and provide opportunities for young people to grow, learn and lead.
  • Actively involve young people in planning, delivery, and evaluation of sessions to ensure their voices are heard and valued.
  • Promote inclusion and engagement among diverse and disadvantaged groups.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and projects in line with Mahdlo’s processes and priorities.
  • Serve as a designated Safeguarding Officer on a rota basis and champion the safety and welfare of all young people.
  • Build strong relationships with schools, community groups, and partner agencies to enhance provision.
  • Monitor and evaluate programmes to evidence outcomes and continuously improve delivery.
