Take a Virtual Tour224 Youth Zone, opening in Spring 2026 in South Bristol, will be a dynamic, state-of-the-art space for young people aged 8 to 19, and up to 25 for those with additional needs. As the new home of Youth Moves and part of the OnSide Network, it will provide over 20 activities – from football, boxing and climbing to creative arts, music, drama and employability training – seven days a week.
For just 50p per visit, members will have access to facilities including an indoor climbing wall, 3G kick pitch, fully equipped gym, dance and drama studio, music room, arts and crafts room, skate park, training kitchen, enterprise suite and wellbeing space, plus a hot meal for £1 every session. At its heart, 224 Youth Zone is about creating a safe, welcoming environment where young people feel heard, supported and inspired to thrive.
We’re looking for enthusiastic and committed Sessional Youth Workers to join our team on a permanent, part-time basis (8–24 hours per week) to help deliver high-quality youth work for young people aged 8–19 (up to 25 with additional needs).
This role includes regular evening and weekend shifts.
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering engaging, inclusive and safe sessions across Junior (8–12) and Senior (13–19) clubs.
Building positive, professional relationships with young people and acting as a role model.
Encouraging participation, positive behaviour and inclusion across a wide range of activities.
Supporting the setup and pack-away of sessions and equipment.
Supervising and supporting volunteers within sessions.
Ensuring all delivery meets safeguarding, health and safety, and equality standards.
Contributing to a welcoming, energetic and youth-led culture across the Youth Zone.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a direct impact on the lives of young people in South Bristol. You’ll have experience working with children and young people and a strong commitment to supporting their personal, social and educational development.
You’ll be confident building positive relationships, working both independently and as part of a team, and adapting activities to ensure all young people feel included – particularly those from diverse backgrounds or with additional needs. You’ll bring energy, reliability and a genuine passion for youth work, alongside a willingness to work evenings, weekends and during busy periods.
You must be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people at all times.
In accordance with Youth Moves’ Child Protection and Safeguarding procedures, this position requires an Enhanced DBS check.
