Take a Virtual TourThe Dome Youth Zone, opening in 2026 in Crewe, will be a vibrant, state-of-the-art space for young people aged 8 to 19 (up to 25 with additional needs). Developed with and for the local community, it will offer over 20 activities – from sport, music, arts and enterprise to wellbeing and employability support – seven days a week.
Designed as a safe, inspiring place to go, The Dome will give young people the opportunity to try new things, build confidence, make friends and feel a strong sense of belonging. As part of the OnSide Network, it will be backed by a proven model of youth work that delivers real, lasting impact in communities across the country.
About the Role
We’re looking for a passionate and organised Volunteer Co-ordinator to build and lead a thriving volunteer programme at The Dome Youth Zone. This is a unique opportunity to shape the volunteer journey from the ground up – recruiting, training and supporting a diverse team of volunteers who will play a vital role in delivering an outstanding experience for young people.
You’ll work across the whole organisation, ensuring volunteers are well-supported, engaged and recognised, while creating meaningful opportunities for people to give their time and skills to make a difference.
This role includes regular evening and weekend working in line with Youth Zone opening hours.
Key Responsibilities
About You
You’ll be a confident and people-focused professional with experience of coordinating or managing volunteers, and a genuine belief in the power of youth work. You’re able to build relationships with a wide range of people, creating an environment where volunteers feel welcomed, supported and motivated to contribute. You’re organised, proactive and calm under pressure, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
Experience in training delivery, safeguarding, and working with community partners is highly desirable.
You must be flexible to work evenings and weekends as required.
This role requires an Enhanced DBS check in line with safeguarding procedures.
