Barnet Youth Zone, named by young people as ‘Unitas’, will be a purpose-built facility for the borough’s young people aged 8 – 19, and up to 25 for those with disabilities. It will be London’s second OnSide Youth Zone and will be located on Montrose Playing Fields in Burnt Oak, near to Grahame Park and Colindale, as part of the redevelopment and regeneration of the playing fields, and is expected to be completed in 2018 after a planning application was approved by Barnet Council in August 2017.
YZs are inspiring places, Unitas will be a spectacular addition to Barnet’s current youth provision

All of our Youth Zone locations are chosen strategically to have the maximum impact. Barnet was chosen for a number of reasons, including:
Leading developer Redrow has pledged its support for young people in the London Borough of Barnet by becoming the first founder patron for Unitas Youth Zone.
Redrows Mark Parker and James Holmear enjoyed a tour of Wigan Youth Zone to see what Unitas – a name chosen by the young people of Barnet – will offer once it opens in 2018.
Founder Patrons are key to the success of a Youth Zone. Becoming a Founder Patron of Barnet Youth Zone is your chance to be part of the Unitas Youth Zone story.
Your pledge of consistent support is critical to the success of Unitas Youth Zone.
The select group of Founder Patrons is made up with the great and good from Barnet, community leaders whose endorsement and generous support will encourage others to follow.
