The Talent Academy was created to recognise and develop outstanding performers from across the network who have the leadership potential, aspiration and engagement to rise through the organisation to one of the senior leadership roles of Chief Executive or Youth Work Manager.
After launching in 2017, we have already seen employees progressing in to brand new positions as a result of their training and development, in both their own Youth Zones and in other Youth Zones in the network. At OnSide, we recognise that existing employees are already passionate about OnSide and the opportunities Youth Zones offer, are familiar with and committed to the values and the culture of the charity and for this, we wish to reward them with focussed professional development.
The Talent Academy is championed and supported by OnSide and Youth Zone senior management. It is seen as a critical part of ensuring all staff can contribute to the best of their ability by providing development opportunities that benefit not only their own Youth Zone, but also of the whole network.

The Talent Academy develops our people for the future to ultimately inspire the next generation. It aims to ensure we have an exceptional talent pipeline across the organization and provide career paths for top talent within the network.

The NYA have developed a bespoke Level 3 Diploma in Youth Work Practice tailored specifically for employees delivering operational youth work across the OnSide network.
