Take a Virtual Tour224 Youth Zone, opening in Spring 2026 in South Bristol, will be a dynamic, state-of-the-art space for young people aged 8 to 19, and up to 25 for those with additional needs. As the new home of Youth Moves and part of the OnSide Network, it will provide over 20 activities – from football, boxing and climbing to creative arts, music and drama – seven days a week.
For just 50p per visit, members will have access to facilities including an indoor climbing wall, 3G kick pitch, fully equipped gym, dance and drama studio, music room, arts and crafts room, skate park, martial arts gym, enterprise suite and wellbeing space, plus a hot meal for £1 every session. At its heart, 224 Youth Zone is about creating a safe, welcoming environment where young people feel supported, active and inspired to thrive.
We’re looking for energetic and committed Sports & Physical Activity Sessional Youth Workers to join our team on a permanent, part-time basis (8–24 hours per week) to deliver engaging sports and physical activity sessions for young people aged 8–19 (up to 25 with additional needs).
This role includes regular evening and weekend shifts.
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering fun, structured and inclusive sports sessions tailored to different ages and abilities.
Using sport and physical activity to build confidence, resilience, teamwork and leadership skills.
Encouraging positive behaviour, wellbeing and healthy lifestyles.
Adapting activities to ensure all young people can participate and feel included.
Building positive, professional relationships and acting as a strong role model.
Supervising and supporting volunteers within sessions.
Ensuring all sessions meet safeguarding, health and safety, and equality standards.
This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire young people through sport and physical activity in a brand-new Youth Zone. You’ll have experience working with children and young people and a strong understanding of how sport can support personal, social and emotional development.
You’ll be confident leading group activities, adapting sessions to suit a range of needs and abilities, and creating a positive, inclusive environment where every young person feels welcome. You’ll bring energy, reliability and enthusiasm, alongside a commitment to safeguarding and youth work values.
Relevant sports or physical activity qualifications and experience leading sporting groups are desirable.
You must be willing to work evenings, weekends and additional sessions when required.
In accordance with Youth Moves’ Child Protection and Safeguarding procedures, this position requires an Enhanced DBS check.
